Glass horse chandelier installation at Queen Victoria Building, Sydney, Australia

This is a custom-designed Year of the Horse chandelier for the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, Australia, created in early 2026. Over 6,000 red, stone-shaped glass pieces combine to form a giant horse, suspended beneath the dome.

2026 is the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, and the red theme perfectly matches the joyous and festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year. The glass horse brings a cheerful Chinese feel to the building, attracting many tourists to take photos.

Stainless steel hanging plate making

The stainless steel hanging tray is used to suspend more than 6,000 red glass beads, and high-powered spotlights are installed on the tray to provide light for the glass carriage.

Glass making and packaging

To create the horse shape, we needed to design and precisely position each piece of glass on the wire, then fix each piece to the wire. The dimensions had to be accurate; otherwise, the horse shape might not be formed. In addition, each wire was coded, matching the code on the hanging plate.
